Isabel Gabbe

born in Munich to French German parents is one of the leading pianist of the younger generation. Her repertoire is extensive and reaches from Bach to contemporary music.
As a soloist and accompanist she won numerous prizes and awards at the Bremen International Piano Competition, the International Duo Competition “Maria Canals” Barcelona (Spain), the International Chamber Music Competition Caltanissetta and she was chosen for the artist list of the German “Musikrat”.
She studied with Prof. Hans Leygraf in Salzburg and Berlin. She received
further important stimuli in master classes with artists such as John Perry,
Geörgy Sebök, Klaus Schilde, Peter Frankle, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Paul
Badura-Skoda and Rainer Becker, as well in chamber music classes with Gerhard
Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet), David Finckel (Emerson Quartet), Zara Nelsova,
Eberhardt Feltz, Wolfram Rieger and Dietrich Fischer-Diskau.
In concerts she played as a soloist and as a partner of members of the
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskappelle Berlin and the Vogler-Quartett
throughout Europe, Brazil and the U.S.
Isabel produced for Deutschland Radio Berlin, Sender Freies Berlin,
WDR, France2 and Radio Bremen. Her Debut CD with suites from Debussy,
Ravel, Bach and Albéniz was released in 2006.
Recently she has performed in concert halls such as the Philharmonie
Berlin, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the “Glocke” in Bremen, the Teatro Guaira in
Brazil and the Philharmonie Cologne.
Since 2007 the experienced pedagogue has been teaching piano and piano pedagogy since 2007 in the Conservatory of Essen.
